White memories from Rodnei Mountains

 

 

Some pics from a trip of 4 days in January 2011, in the central part of Rodnei Mountains – Gargalau area.

Gargalau peak ( 2158 m ) in front of us ( on the left ) getting bigger and bigger. The smaller peak  in the sunlight is Musceta ( 1900 m ).  We set up the tent in the night, 200 meters under the top of Musceta.

Ineu peak ( 2279 m ) and Piciorul Plescutei ridge. Ineu is the second highest peak of Rodnei Mountains, after Pietrosu peak ( 2303 m ).

Clouds rolling. Waves. Far behind on the right, you can see Pietrosu peak ( 2303 m ), the highest peak not only of Rodnei Mountains, but also of the entire chain of The Eastern Carpathians.

In a sort of a trance state on the Gargalau peak. We spent here around 1 hour, before descending 100 m to a small but nice and cosy plateau under the peak, where we set up the tent.
